Meet Rekeia. A podcast host, content creator, and follower of Christ. In this week’s feature, Rekeia talks about navigating doubt and finding confidence in who God called us to be.

Q: What does “Confidence Without Compromise” mean to you?

A: When I think of this concept, what stands out to me is being confident in the person that God has created you to be and the journey He has asked you to walk. We get confused and distracted by what others are doing or what the world has to offer when we don’t have any confidence in the person that Christ called us to be.

Without confidence, you begin to compromise and start settling for less than what you deserve.

However, when you have confidence without compromise, you have confidence in your journey, and you will not settle for anything less than what God has called for you in this life.

Q: How has your faith given you confidence?

A: My faith has given me confidence in several areas of my life. I had a period of struggles when I first started my journey with Christ. I faced a lot of judgement, and I felt like I was in a season of isolation as no one really understood my journey with Him. It was honestly hard to explain to others because people can judge you and plant seeds of doubt in your mind. While it can still be difficult for me, God has been so faithful.

He will provide whatever you lack, and He will protect you.

I wasn’t confident in my journey because I was surrounded by a lot of “so called believers,” or ones that believe in God but don’t understand what it means to live for Him. That made me question my own journey as I already wasn’t confident in it. God helped me find confidence by removing certain things that I desired and by showing up in every area of my life. The more time I spent with the Lord, the stronger the relationship I had with Him. As you spend time with Him, you will gain more confidence, because you realize how much He loves you and how His love is forever promising.

Q: What is a go-to Bible verse that you turn to when you need confidence or hope?

A: My go-to bible verse is Romans 8:28: “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” This always helps me because I’m able to remind myself that whatever I’m facing will benefit me in the long run.

Q: What encouragement would you give to other young women regarding living for the Lord?

A: Pray without ceasing. Make God a part of your everyday life. Become comfortable talking to Him out loud and regularly–even when you don’t need anything.

Let God know the thoughts and fears that you have.

Don’t force people to understand the journey or vision that God has given you. He has given it to you for a reason. Also, be vulnerable and allow yourself to be free in Christ.

Learn About The College Christian Podcast

This podcast is about my journey throughout college, how I became closer to God, and the experiences I’ve learned along the way. My purpose is to help others know that they’re not alone and to use this as a platform to promote love and growth within ourselves.

Q: How have you seen God work in your life and the lives of others during your involvement?

A: I’ve seen God work in several ways. I get a lot of feedback from my podcast about how people are trying to follow Christ, but no one talks about the journey. It’s a topic that we tend to avoid. God has brought to my attention that people really need to be encouraged. He has shown me that others are listening or watching, even when you don’t think they are.
