Meet Nona. An actress, model, and follower of Christ. In today’s feature, Nona talks about finding purpose from pain, living a God-honoring life, and using our gifts for His kingdom.

Q: What does “Confidence Without Compromise” mean to you?

A: “Confidence without Compromise” means trusting who God has called you to be. He created you for His purpose only. By using our spiritual and natural gifts for His glory, we will live godly life, a life pleasing to Him. As children of God, we need to deny ourselves daily, allowing our identity to become wrapped up in Him–not in what the world thinks we should be.

Q: How has your faith given you confidence?

A: When I reflect on my life, I can say that it’s by the grace of God that I am the godly woman I am today. Growing up, I’ve dealt with constant struggle, trials, and pain. I’ve experienced anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts, loneliness, anger, betrayal, homosexuality, unhealthy relationships and friendships, sexual sin, rape, financial hardships, broken family relationships, and no consistent father figure.

I’ve realized that God allowed my experiences to increase my faith in Him and transform me to become more like Christ.

He showed me that I need to look to Him and seek His strength. Every time I feel defeated, I get back up and rely on my Heavenly Father. Through it all, I’m thankful and understand that He was with me through everything–building me, molding me, and strengthening me.

Your brokenness is power. Pain builds purpose.

Your pain has the power to bless someone else and change people’s lives. I have confidence in myself as someone deeply loved by God. I am a child of light, a living testimony called to bring the good news of how Jesus Christ saved my life and brought me home.

Q: What is a go-to Bible verse that you turn to when you need confidence or hope?

A: Philippians 4:13: “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.” This is a daily reminder that I can do NOTHING in my own strength, so I need to rely on His.

Q: What encouragement would you give to other young women regarding living for the Lord?

A: 1 Peter 2:9 says, “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who is called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.”

You were created for His purpose, to shine His light and bring Him glory.

You are chosen, sis. You were created to be an instrument by which God displays His favor through you to bless someone else. Everything that you’ve endured in your life is your testimony, preparing you for this moment right now. You are a blessing. Remember who you are and Whose you are. Be strong–He always has you. God loves you, and I love you.
