Meet Donna. A speaker, TV host, and vlogger. In this week’s feature, Donna talks about understanding our value, pursuing God’s plan for our lives, and being willing to walk in faith.

Q: What does “Confidence Without Compromise” mean to you?

A: Confidence without compromise is living your life according to the Word of God. It is knowing that your identity comes from your growing relationship with Christ and discovering your purpose.

You are confident when you don’t fall victim to the distorted idea of self-importance that the world has to offer, which can quickly become egotistical.

When you fully understand that your value is based on what God says about you, you stop compromising and stop giving into false patterns that don’t line up with His Word. Instead of compromising your true convictions, you find comfort in God’s promises and allow His Word to define who you truly are.

Q: How has your faith given you confidence?

A: When I was 19 years old, I fully surrendered my life to the Lord and began allowing His Word to define who I was. I started praying for God’s will to be manifested in my life, and I quickly realized that my life was not my own and that I was placed on this earth for a purpose bigger than myself.

I fell in love with His Word and His promises and began to receive them for my own life.

It started to change my perception of myself, and I began to see myself how God sees me. I went from a broken young woman who was looking for love in all the wrong places to a woman of God who desires to be used by Him.

This desire is the fueling fire that continues to drive me today. The desire to be used by God has made many of my personal dreams come true. I am confident because of who He is in me and the way God uses me. It is nothing that I can do on my own strength but everything that comes from Him.

Q: What is a go-to Bible verse that you turn to when you need confidence or hope?

A: I love what Proverbs 31:18 (NKJV) says: “She perceives that her merchandise is good.” This scripture means that I need to be confident everyday and know what I bring to the table because my merchandise is Jesus, and He is good.

Q: What encouragement would you give to other young women regarding living for the Lord?

A: It takes courage to live a life of faith. It is not an easy walk–that’s why Jesus said, “Take up your cross daily and follow Me” (Matthew 16:24). Everywhere in scripture we read the courageous stories of men and women who said yes to God. Esther had to be courageous when confronting the King to save her people and fulfill the call of God upon her life (Esther 4:16). Moses had to do what God told him to do in order to see God’s glory (Exodus 9:1). Ruth had no idea what awaited her in the land of Judah, yet she still followed (Ruth 1:16).

Time and time again in scripture, we see how God used willing vessels who were courageous enough to say YES to Him–and we also see how He rewarded them.

He is a good, good Father who rewards those who diligently seek Him (Hebrews 11:6). My advice to any young woman following God is to follow Him wholeheartedly because He is the best thing that could ever happen to you.

Q: How have you seen God work in your life and the lives of others during your involvement?

A: Everyday I receive comments and feedback on my YouTube channel from people who have been blessed by the testimonies of those I have interviewed on Faith with Flavor as well as from my weekly vlogs and/or speaking engagements. I have grown spiritually, professionally, and relationally with all the divine relationships I have made throughout my career at TBN. Queen Identity Beauty is something God placed on my heart this year through a dream, and I am really excited to launch it this year in the near future.
