Meet Simi. A ministry leader, blogger, and speaker. In this week’s feature, Simi talks about seeking intentional time with God, being committed to a Christ-filled life, and receiving the desires of our hearts.
Q: What does “Confidence Without Compromise” mean to you?
A: Knowing your identity results in confidence. When I truly know who I am and whose I am, the choices I make in life reflect back to that. I don’t have to try to please people, compare myself, or compromise my integrity, because I am confident in my identity.
Q: How has your faith given you confidence?
A: I knew at a young age that God had a great calling on my life. I loved going to church, reading the Bible, and praying.
I couldn’t get enough of spending time with the Lord.
So, when all my friends were in relationships, I committed to not dating and focused on finding my joy in God and being rooted in Christ. It wasn’t until I turned 18 that I started praying for a spouse. I wanted my first relationship or boyfriend to be my husband, and God honored my desire and commitment.
Q: What is a go-to Bible verse that you turn to when you need confidence or hope?
A: Psalm 23:1 – “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” God is my everything, and He will provide me everything I need.
Q: What encouragement would you give to other young women regarding living for the Lord?
A: The key to living a true, abundant Christian life that is filled with joy and peace is abiding in Christ. When you abide in the Lord–not just visit Him on Sundays or chat when you need help–but live, rest, and constantly stay connected to Jesus, you will know who He is and who you are. Then, you will be able to live out your God-given purpose in power and be satisfied in Christ alone.
