Meet Amanda. A blogger, creative, and follower of Christ. In this week’s feature, Amanda talks about the process of developing a personal relationship with God and shaping our perspective on His Word.

Q: What does “Confidence Without Compromise” mean to you?

A: For me, “confidence without compromise” means being God’s best version of you, without worrying about what other people have to say about it or how it may look to anyone else. It means being confident in God and who He says you are.

Q: How has your faith given you confidence?

A: When I first became saved, I hadn’t really found my voice. I didn’t know what I stood for. I was happy being that girl that could just go with the flow; I was really easy-going and laid back about everything. I think God has really shaken me and told me:

“You have to stand for something.”

It reminds me of the verse Ephesians 4:14, which says, “…so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes.”

I had to do a lot of research to truly gain confidence in God’s Word. I spent a lot of time reading, listening to podcasts and sermons, searching up and comparing historical timelines–everything.

As my knowledge and understanding of God and His Word grew, so did my confidence.

The confidence I have now is that when I say or share something that is backed by God’s Word, I no longer have to justify it myself; I’m not relying on my own limited understanding or knowledge. I no longer sit on the sidelines or just go with the flow. I shape my opinions on God’s Word because it’s the truth.

Q: What is a go-to Bible verse that you turn to when you need confidence or hope?

A: Jeremiah 29:11: “‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’”

This verse is so comforting because it reassures me that no matter what I’m going through, God is good and so are His plans for me.

Q: What encouragement would you give to other young women regarding living for the Lord?

A: Whilst it’s great being plugged into a church, learning from pastors, speakers and other spiritual leaders, there is no substitute for having a personal relationship with God.

Get to know God for yourself.

I think that’s where your journey truly begins. Knowing God is the beginning of really getting to know yourself.

Q: How have you seen God work in your life and the lives of others during your involvement?

A: Although these are the early days for my blog, I’ve surprisingly had a few people reach out to me and ask about Christianity, why I started being a serious Christian, how they can do the same, etc. I truly believe that seeds have been planted, and hopefully it’s just the beginning of it all!

  1. I Strongly Agree!! Amanda. I too was a baby being feed baby food, and now I’m able to eat meat. Glory be to God Al Mighty!! God knew what to feed me. I didn’t of course. But I Thank God for where I stand today. I personally still go and eat on Jeremiah 29:11. 🙂 I thank the Holy Spirit that dwells within me for His guidance. God Bless you and you continue about His ((Will)) planting those seeds. Because the harvest is plenty. It is the labors that are few. He said that He will Never leave us nor forsake us. I believe and Trust His Promises. He is so Faithful. Thank you for sharing, it is encouraging!! \0/\0/((Hugs))
