Founder, P.U.R.E. Jess
Meet Jessica. A content creator, author, and youth speaker. In this week’s feature, Jessica talks about choosing faith over fear, letting go of worldly standards, and learning to relying on God’s Word.
Q: What does “Confidence Without Compromise” mean to you?
A: When I hear “confidence without compromise,” I think of someone who perseveres through her fear, pushes past her comfort zone, and goes after her God-given purpose with faith!
Q: How has your faith given you confidence?
A: My faith in Jesus Christ has given me confidence because of the stability and peace that I find in it. Living in today’s world can be overwhelming. Circumstances change, people come and go, and you as an individual evolve in different seasons. These constant shifts left me feeling confused. There was no solid ground I could stand on when I was trying to build my confidence.
After searching and finding nothing, I felt the Holy Spirit pushing me to make a change.
I felt convicted to stop trying to figure out life by the world’s standards and started looking at things from a biblical perspective. I can be confident in this method because God is consistent. With my faith in His Word as my guiding truth, I received confidence in my decisions because I have a higher Source to back me up.
Q: What is a go-to Bible verse that you turn to when you need confidence or hope?
A: The first “go-to” verse that popped in my head was Esther 4:14: “If you keep quiet at a time like this, deliverance and relief for the Jews will arise from some other place, but you and your relatives will die. Who knows if perhaps you were made queen for just such a time as this?”
This verse sparks my confidence in moments of fear, because it reminds me that I have a purpose; there is a divine reason of why I am where I am.
Q: What encouragement would you give to other young women regarding living for the Lord?
A: Always remember that this walk is not easy for anyone. Sometimes when we’re at church, among other Christian friends, or browsing on social media, we can find ourselves feeling like we aren’t doing good enough in our walk with the Lord.
The truth of it is that everyone struggles, and that is 100% normal. Whether you are new to the faith or a seasoned believer, you still need to make a decision every day to live for God. As we do our best to live like Christ, there will still be moments of imperfection and sin. I myself have felt so much pressure, anxiety, shame, and regret that I didn’t have to feel.
The weight of the world isn’t on your shoulders.
God is always there with us, and the blood of Jesus has covered it all. We are made perfect through Him in our weak moments, and all you can do is your best.
You can learn to rest in that truth.

My ministry is called P.U.R.E. Jess! P.U.R.E. stands for “Powerful Women. Under God. Reaching Success. Evolving in Purpose.”
Over the past two and a half years, my ministry has become a blog, YouTube channel, and app for young women who want to live intentionally for Christ but have trouble knowing how to do it.
We always hear “read the Bible,” but how do we understand it?
We hear “save yourself for marriage,” but how does that look when we start dating?
We hear “surround yourself with godly people,” but how do we find them?
Unintentionally, there can be many gaps that don’t get filled when we learn about our faith. I don’t have all the answers, but whenever I learn practical applications for the everyday millennial on staying close to God, I do my best to share it!
On my social media platforms and app notifications, I also share encouraging words to spread positivity and godly insight everyday.
To keep up with the ministry, download the PURE JESS app (available on Android and iPhone), and follow me on social media @PureJess_!
Q: How have you seen God work in your life and the lives of others during your involvement?
A: My relationship with God has strengthened so much since I started the ministry. It holds me accountable and has pushed me to go deeper when I study the Bible or share my faith with others.
I have seen just as much increase, if not more, in the lives of people around me. Regardless of whether they go to church, believe in God, or have ever met someone who is Christian, others now have a front row seat to what living for God really looks like.
