Meet Shana. A writer, content creator, and speaker. In this week’s feature, Shana talks about pursuing Christ when we feel disconnected, allowing God’s truths to transform our identity, and understanding His intentionality in our lives.

Q: What does “Confidence Without Compromise” mean to you?

A: It means constantly viewing myself through God’s lens and not allowing anything but His truth to win in my life. There is no compromising when it comes to following our Father; what He says REIGNS–always.

Q: How has your faith given you confidence?

A: I was the most insecure girl growing up, and that insecurity followed me well into my adulthood.

I allowed the world, other people’s thoughts, and even my own thoughts to taint my identity.

Once I started following God wholeheartedly, my confidence in Him grew, and therefore my confidence in what He said about me grew as well. I then started to understand that there is no confidence apart from God. Before, I used to search for confidence within myself, but now I know that confidence is found IN God and God alone.

Q: What is a go-to Bible verse that you turn to when you need confidence or hope?

A: There are so many, but one that I keep tucked in my back pocket is Jeremiah 1:5: “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”

It gives me chills just knowing that God had purpose for my life before I was even born.

It is such a beautiful reminder of how fully known I am by God, and how intentional He was in making me DIFFERENT so that I could spread His Kingdom here on earth.

Q: What encouragement would you give to other young women regarding living for the Lord?

A: YOU MATTER! And God cares so much for you! Even when you can’t feel or trace Him, keep pursuing Him with everything you have. Keep praying. Keep trusting. Keep believing. God is always in your midst, and He’s working ALL things together for your good. He is so faithful!

Q: How have you seen God work in your life and the lives of others during your involvement?

A: I never imagined how fulfilling this online platform would be in my life and in the life of others. I am constantly in awe of how God has used my blog to empower and uplift women in the midst of their brokenness. All the messages I get from women who have been inspired and encouraged by posts brings me to tears. There is so much power in our transparency and our obedience to God.
