Priyanka, Texas

Missionary, Worldwide

Meet Priyanka. A wife and ministry partner, traveler, and follower of Christ. In this weeks feature, Priyanka talks about serving in the missions field, holding onto the truth of God’s Word, and living a surrendered life.

Q: What does “Confidence Without Compromise” mean to you?

A: When I hear these words, I think of a life lived with unwavering faith and uninterrupted obedience.

Confidence  — standing strong in not what I believe, but WHO I believe is the fullness of life itself. My Creator, the King of kings, the Ruler of all and Savior of this world — He loves me and gave Himself for me (Galatians 2:20). If I stand confidently in anything, it’s in Him.

Without Compromise — remaining steadfast in the truth of who God is and living it out so others would know Him, too. Because I know what God has done for me and who He is, I can confidently and uncompromisingly walk in a manner worthy of the gospel without being swayed.

Christ says in Scripture, “If you love me, you will keep my commandments” (John 14:15).

Here’s how I see it: if I truly believe Christ is who He says He is, and if I truly believe what He’s done for me is true, obeying Him, living for Him and knowing Him more is the least I could do.

Q: How has your faith given you confidence?

A: My faith in Christ has given me more and more confidence as I continue to walk with Him on this journey. Through each joy and sorrow of life, through all the ups and downs, God proves Himself faithful, again and again, which builds in me spiritual muscle. The more I walk with Him, the more I know Him, and the more I know Him, the more I believe Him. The more I believe Him, I desire only to live a life of uninterrupted obedience and full of worship, which I don’t succeed at more times than not.

I believe who He is because He remains constant. His love is unconditional. His care is unmatched. His grace is unstoppable. And His presence is unwavering. How could I not believe Him who has loved me so completely every step of the way?

When I made the decision, by grace through faith, to surrender my life to Christ, He has never let me down.

When life seems to take a sharp left turn, totally unexpected by me, God continues to lovingly show me more of who He is. When I decide to walk off His path for me, even for a second, He gently and patiently teaches me and leads me back to His way. He is so worthy of my trust.

Q:  What is a go-to Bible verse that you turn to when you need confidence or hope?

A: 1 Peter 1:3-9: “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to His great mercy, He has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God’s power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ. Though you have not seen Him, you love Him. Though you do not now see Him, you believe in Him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.”

I have everything I need and more because of and in Jesus Christ; I can stand confidently, now and forever, in Him.

Q: What encouragement would you give to other young women regarding living for the Lord?

A: When we choose to take God at His Word, He honors that. Hebrews 11:6 says, “And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who seek Him.” As we practice our faith, our love for Christ grows deeper and deeper. So much so that being in His presence is what we long for and being home with Him is our desire.

Christ has become my absolute treasure. My prayer for each young woman and every other soul is that they would find Him as theirs as well. Especially as women, it’s easy to fall into the lies the enemy of our souls feeds to us and that the world does, too.

But what I’m learning with the Lord is to choose to believe truth even when my mind, heart and others are telling me otherwise.

I’m learning to choose to turn to Him, to stay present with Him and to experience the fullness of joy He gives. Though He is my treasure, I have to continue to make an intentional choice to set my mind on things above, things that matter for eternity, and I know for certain that this life will be over before I know it. I want to live a life that counts for eternity.

These days I am partnering with my husband in taking the gospel to the nations and encouraging and challenging this generation to follow Christ unconditionally. We have the great task and privilege to share Christ’s love all around the world. We’ve had incredible opportunities in every place we go. From Myanmar, to Cyprus, to Niger, to Iowa, to Florida, to New Jersey, God is growing His Church and drawing broken hearts to accept His life-giving gift of salvation! I’m so thankful for the privilege I have to get a glimpse of what God sees and what He’s doing. We continue to pray for the unreached nations of this world and hope to go to more of them as we continue on this pilgrim journey.

My encouragement to everyone reading is to “pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest” (Matthew 9:38). This world is FULL of souls that haven’t heard the good news of Jesus Christ.

The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. So, pray with us!

My husband also just came out with a book titled, What If Jesus Meant What He Said?, centered around Luke 9:23: “If anyone would come after Me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow Me.” A reader left this review on Amazon about the book — “This book is a call to follow Jesus. Filled with Scripture, it points the reader to Jesus. The author uses personal experiences to illustrate what the call to obey God’s Word looks like practically. You will walk away changed by reading this book.” We pray that the book will challenge, encourage and motivate you as you continue on your journey following the Lord Jesus Christ.
