Celeste, Florida

Creator, Celeste and Company

Meet Celeste. A food and lifestyle blogger, encourager, and ministry leader. In this week’s feature, Celeste talks about self-esteem, understanding God’s love, and learning to hear His voice.

Q: What does “Confidence Without Compromise” mean to you?

A: I looked up the definition of compromise (and by looked up, I mean Google’d!), and the third definition stood out to me:

Compromise: accepting standards that are lower than what is desirable.

We all know that God has placed purpose inside of us, but many of us lack the confidence to achieve all that God wants us to do. Because of this lack of confidence, we often settle for certain things in life instead of holding onto the promises that God has over us!

Confidence without compromise to me means that I’m not going to settle or accept things that are lower than all that God has for me.

I’m going to walk in confidence and receive every blessing, every open door, every amazing thing that God has designed just for me. No if’s, and’s or but’s! #nocompromise! #dontsettle!

Q: How has your faith given you confidence?

A: Growing up, I used to reallyyyy struggle with low self-esteem. And after giving birth to my son Levi, I honestly still have days where I struggle with my self-image. I used to always speak negative things to myself like:

“You’re so dumb.”

“You should’ve seen that coming.”

“You’re lazy! You need to try harder.”

But one day, I asked God to let me see myself the way He sees me–and that was when the shift happened.

The confidence didn’t come from me. It came from God.

When I got a glimpse of how God sees me, I couldn’t talk down to myself anymore! My confidence is just a reflection of His love for me! So, the deeper I’ve gone in my faith, the more confidence I’ve had in myself. My confidence is from the Lord.

Q: What is a go-to Bible verse that you turn to when you need confidence or hope?

A: “I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living” (Psalms 27:13 NLT). This verse brings me so much hope because no matter where I am in life, whether things are good or bad, I can hold onto this promise: I will see the goodness of God while I am living!

Q: What encouragement would you give to other young women regarding living for the Lord?

A: This is a tricky question because I feel like there’s so much to be said here! But if I could say one thing, I would say spend time with the Lord. Meditate.

Ask Him to show you His heart.

Oftentimes when we pray, we just ask and ask and talk and talk…Sometimes it’s good to train ourselves to listen to His voice.

Learn About Celeste and Company

I created the blog, Celeste and Company, which is a place where I share cooking and confidence tips. I also am heavily involved with the young adult community of Deeper Fellowship Church where my husband pastors.

Q: How have you seen God work in your life and the lives of others during your involvement?

A: God has been using my blog and my social media involvement to encourage young women nationwide. It’s been so cool to connect with people through my posts and through cooking! I’ve started a segment called Chat and Chew, where I cook and then share a meaningful conversation with the “audience.” It’s definitely a cool way that God has let me communicate.
